With more than 15 years
of successful surgical sales for the largest
orthopedic company in the world, Debbie left
the company and became a recruiter at a major
children’s hospital in Philadelphia. After
years of working “in” hospitals, she decided
it was time to work “for” a hospital. Her
position as the nurse recruiter progressed to
physician recruiter.
A native of Bucks County
Pennsylvania, and Jenkintown, Pennsylvania,
Debbie and her husband discovered the magic of
Amelia Island while attending a business
meeting. They were lucky and were able to
purchase a home on the island. The move took
longer than they wanted, but they finally left
suburban Philadelphia and moved to Amelia.
The experience Debbie has
gained while working in the operating room in
a surgical sales capacity, and as recruiter
for a major hospital corporation, gives her a
plethora of experience to draw on. She has a
first-hand understanding of the pressures her
clients are under, because she experienced
those same pressures in her sales experiences.
That is why she is determined to find the
“right” candidate for her clients’ positions,
not just “many” candidates. Recruiting is a
sales business, but it is also a people
business. She believes that being courteous
and professional goes a long way and makes
everyone successful.
Discovering a
professional firm such as the Kerrington Group
was fortunate for Debbie. She has been able to
utilize her experience as a healthcare
recruiter, her experience in HR, and her
knowledge from surgical sales to recruit those
specialties. She is quickly expanding her
talents to other areas of recruitment.
Debbie has a Bachelor of
Science degree from West Virginia Wesleyan
College, Buckhannon, West Virginia, and has
completed numerous sales training courses.
She is a member of NAHCR and PAAHCR.
Debbie and her husband
Phil enjoy golf, the beach, and their home on
Amelia Island. They both like to cook,
entertain, and they enjoy ballroom dancing.
